PRAYER: Begin the time by praying together

DISCUSS:

1. When and how do you have moments where you allow God to “search me”?
2. When do you feel close to God?
3. Share about a time when God felt distant from you and how did that change? What brought that change about?
4. Have you ever felt like you have pushed God away? What did that look like for you?
5. When have you felt God’s hedge of protection? What did it look like in your life?
6. How have you felt God show up in the midst of your fears to offer you comfort and peace?

PRAYER: Lord, please help me to understand why I can feel uncomfortable in knowing that you are searching me. I want to feel closer to you during this time of Lent and not be pushing you away in any way. Thank you for your willingness to provide a hedge of protection around me and for giving me comfort and peace in the midst of my fears.
